I had to take some pictures of Delaney and her "bears". We have a changing area on our pack n play which is set up in her room. When I change her diaper, I turn on the bears and she LOVES to watch them slowly spin around. It is amazing how in the last week or so, she has been focusing more on them and moving her gaze from one bear to another. I remember how Kenna loved them too! In addition to focusing her gaze more, Delaney is starting to get a more pleasant look on her face when you talk to her. Earlier this week she "talked" to me as I talked to her. It was adorable. I think she is getting close to smiling at us too!!!
Yesterday we went up to Aunt Di and Uncle Rick's house. We took Kenna to the pool for a bit, Aunt Di read books to Kenna, sat on the porch, etc. We had a WONDERFUL dinner which made us feel like we just went to a fancy restaurant. We had a "boil" consisting of corn on the cob, red potatoes, smoked sausage, shrimp and crab legs all cooked together in a large pot. YUMMY- crab legs are my favorite!! Poor Kenna was slightly traumatized by the dinner. Uncle Rick had cooked it outside, but obviously when he brought it inside the seafood smell filled the house. Kenna kept saying how it smelled bad. She held her taggie blanket over her nose, then refused to even be in the room with us while we ate. She headed to the bedroom with the toys and shut the door. When she asked to watch Dora and was told that she had to watch it on the TV in the living room she was leery because she would have to "come out there" where the smell was. Poor thing. She better get over that dislike of seafood if she is in this family!!!
She wore and array of princess dresses while we were there, which can be expected. On our way to the pool, we saw a bridal party getting pictures taken outside the club. For the rest of they day, she was telling us she was a bride!
Poor Delaney goes through a period every evening when she is very fussy. She gets very tired and tries to fight going to sleep. Sometimes walking around with her helps to relax her. By accident, we discovered that she loves the dryer. Aunt Di thought it was funny that once we turned on the dryer and laid her on it, she quieted down. Hey, it works!
